Whether you are wanting to start a new mentoring program from scratch, develop your existing peer support, or simply need to provide your mentors with the skills they need to fulfil their role, we can provide a range of packaged and bespoke consultancy services to achieve your peer support goals.
If you are planning to include peer support services in your organisation and need help in the development process, we can offer a range of services to support you to design and implement these based on our existing, award winning peer mentoring services.
The Peer Mentoring training delivered to our staff and volunteers was very well received. The drafting of the Terms of Service over several meetings enabled us to consider our needs every step of the way and we now have an extremely useful document to support our pilot programme, from recruitment and training, through to delivery. We had some really interesting discussions during this time and we now feel more confident about delivering our pilot Women’s Peer Mentoring programme with ex-offenders in Manchester.

We can support you with:
Development
We can support you to design a model for your services including a bespoke model infrastructure, undertaking focus groups, choosing an evaluation framework, and making sure you are aware of all that is necessary to create a high quality peer support service.
Training
We can provide a 3 day core peer mentor training program for your mentors to teach them all the skills and techniques to be effective peer mentors.
Supervision
We can support your peer support coordinator by providing outside supervision to make sure they are confident in their role and keep them updated on the latest information on best practice and techniques.
We can also provide support in various other areas of your peer support service. For more information, or to discuss your project, please contact Sean Hourigan on 01179555038 or email at info@peerpartnership.org.
The peer mentors offer a unique service and Brigstowe have successfully been able to adapt their original training package to support a diabetes peer mentor programme. I have heard of some great motivational success stories and expect there to be many more by the end of the pilot. As a health care professional, I feel the peer mentor role greatly supports the work we do and is a key aspect of the support that can be offered to people with type 2 diabetes. We would be keen to now expand the service to people with type 1 diabetes as the need is certainly there.
